How Can Community Organizations Accelerate Innovative Government Programs in Ghana?

Leading development of new technology tools and digital services, Ghana’s government adopted a policy in 2003 that focuses on access to technology, 21st-century skills development, and ICT infrastructure. The country already has a network of 63 public libraries — present in each region — all offering existing infrastructure, trained information guides, and a safe community hub for development partners aiming to implement technology policies. This brief explores how two government institutions are implementing innovative programs, including one that is establishing Community Information Centers in each of the country's 216 districts, and another focused on e-government initiatives.
